History
In 1950 United Illuminating opened the single-branch New Haven UI Employees Federal Credit Union as a way to protect the financial stability and prosperity of its employees.
In 1982 New Haven UI Employees Federal Credit Union’s name was changed to UI Employees Federal Credit Union.
In 2000, backed by the strength and faith of its ever-growing membership base, UI Employees Federal Credit Union expanded its field of membership beyond the walls of UI and merged with Shoreline Credit Union. Then UI Employees Federal Credit Union changed its name to United Shoreline Federal Credit Union.
As membership grew and the need for additional financial services arose, United Shoreline Federal Credit Union merged with Airpax Federal Credit Union in 2002 and Echlin Federal Credit Union in 2006.
In 2005 the credit union expanded its membership base once again by adopting a community charter that opened membership to anyone who lives, works, worships, attends school, or volunteers in the following towns:
